Downtown Trick-or-Treating on Halloween in Petaluma and Santa Cruz
Downtown Petaluma and downtown Santa Cruz both host free daytime trick-or-treating on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Several Bay Area downtowns hold daytime trick-or-treating on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Petaluma Trick or Treat Trail: 3 to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, with more than 75 businesses taking part. Look for signs outside participating shops.
Downtown Santa Cruz: trick-or-treating at 50-plus businesses from 2 to 5 p.m., then a dog costume contest from 5 to 6 p.m. at Abbott Square. Sign-ups open at 4 p.m. and are limited to 20 dogs.
